Holiday Recipe Ideas - Smoked Ham and European Swiss Cut Rolls

I've return with another yummy recipe as I promised to post in a prior post, the 10 layer dip is a recipe. I will also include this for those who was wondering what happened to the latest recipe. Well here it is below. Enjoy!

Need a quick hor d'eurve? Here's one that I made quickly experimenting with my original pizza dough recipe. It's so delicious and you can't stop eating just one if you are a ham and cheese lover. The aroma is similar to a ham and cheese pizza. The look will be like those rolled cut sandwiches. Garnish with sprigs of flat leaf parsley.

Basic Pizza Recipe

1 Cup Hot Water
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. granulated sugar
1 package of yeast
2 3/4 Cups all purpose enriched flour
1 tsp. of olive oil or cooking oil

Main Ingredients
Smoked Ham
European Swiss Cheese ( It's Creamier)
1/2 Cup of Mayo
1/8 tsp. Mustard
2 Tbsp. Butter
Sprigs of flat parsley for garnish

Kitchen tools and supplies

1 medium bowl
1 pastic wrap for bowl
1 kitchen towel
1 large wooden spoon
1 small wisk
1 cutting board
2 cookie sheets
3 paper towels to clean up
2 potholders
1 platter or large dish

Make the basic pizza dough by putting the hot water, salt and yeast in a medium sized bowl. Wisk this and let it set for a few minutes. You should be able to see foamy bubbles. Then put the oil,sugar and flour in and mix thoroughly. Form this basic pizza dough into a ball and cover this with plastic wrap and put a towel on top. Wait until it rises and or doubles in size. Pound and punch the dough and let it rest before rolling it out at room temperature. This takes the air out of the dough and makes it light and fluffy too.

On the cutting board that has some flour to roll or flatten out this dough mixture. Make it about 1/4 inch high. After you have your dough ready, spread the mayo and mustard onto the dough across. Use more if needed. Add your smoked ham and swiss cheese across. Roll the dough up starting at one end side to the other end side. Cut rolls in 1/2 inch sizes and place on a buttered cookie sheets. Bake in a pre-heated oven of 350 degrees. You should keep a watch on these because the cheese can melt quick and the bottoms will burn if your oven gets too hot. Switch cookie sheets between baking one on top, put on the bottom and visaversa. Bake for around 7 - 10 minutes or until it looks golden color and melted cheese. Cool and place these cut roll on a platter or large dish. Place garnish and serve warm or cold.

Time prep basic pizza dough includes rising: 1 hour
Time prep putting together 15 minutes
Cook Time: 7 - 10 minutes

Serves estimated 48 pieces or more.
