New Battery for Sony VGP-BPS5 battery
Question:Hey guys! Mylaptop's battery capacity was running down, so I bought a replacement off a mega-seller on eBay with almost all positive feedback. When I plug the battery in and try to charge it, the VGP-BPS5 battery light flashes from orange to green, stays green for about a minute, and then turns off. The battery does charge steadily, but slowly, and after it worked up a charge, I tried unplugging the AC power and the computer shut off. I pressed the button on the battery and it says it still has about 80% capacity. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Answer:One has purchased a defective toshiba battery and see if the eBay seller will take it back for exchange or refund.

Is it worth to fix old laptop or get a new one
Question:I currently own a Apple G4 15" Powerbook that has some things that need fixing (clasp won't stay closed, screen dims on it's own, needs new laptop battery , the cd slot is slightly warped but can still get cd's in/out, & the charger is loose & tends to fall out.). It runs fine other than that. Is it worth fixing all these (I don't know how much it will cost) or should I buy a new one? And if so which brands are better (I've been looking at Hp and Toshiba, they sound good but I don't know much about computers.)
I'm a multi-tasker so I need a fast one. I'll be using it for school and maybe some games. Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Answer:I want you to know, that all laptops are built to be very limited in their expandability. You also need to know that while Vista is still very uinstable, the machines built for Vista are not being provided any drivers for XP, so, if Vista is so buggy that you cannot use it effevtively, then you cannot go back to XP .

Is there a way to get life back from a battery
Queustion:On a laptop battery, is it possible to get battery life back? For example, my battery only lasts 20 mins now, but it used to last 2 hrs, is it possible to make it last 2 hours, or anything longer than 20 mins, again? Thanks in advance!
Answer:Usually you just have to get a new one. Every time you recharge your Latitude battery it charges just a bit less, so eventually you wear it out. That's just how battery technology is unfortunately.

My Laptops Battery Light Is Orange
Question:I have a Latitude D800 battery, i believe. I think there might be a problem with the AC port. It makes a high pitched noise and the only way to stop it is to have the cord plugged in a specific way. I bought a new cord for it and that didnt fix it. It has been like this for a few months and now the Latitude CPi battery light is either orange or flashing orange/green. I do not really want to call tech support because the last time I had a problem, they were as useful as a wet match in a dark cave.
Answewr:your laptop battery is just dead you need to recharge it for 24 hours at least. try taking out the battery and just using the power cord then before you go to sleep plug in the battery it should work.

Can I access my laptop's hard drive through my PC
Question:The power socket on my laptop has broken, my laptop battery has died, and I can't turn on my laptop. Before I get the power socket repaired, I need to take off personal files off of my laptop. Since I can't even turn it on, I am wondering if I can remove the hard drive and gain access to its files through my old PC. Is this possible? I have heard of external USB hard drive cases, but will that work to hook my laptop hard drive to my PC without using my laptop at all?
Answer:If you buy an external drive case, make sure you get one new Latitude D800 battery that will work with the drive from your laptop..they're different(smaller and different connectors) than standard desktop drives.
Might be cheaper to buy an adapter..like the one here...

Question:What is the best way to use my computer regarding its battery: should I plug it into the wall or should I run it off the VGP-BPL2 battery even when I dont need to?

Newlaptop battery don't have the battery "memory" that the old ones do. It is no-longer necessary to fully drain it to get the best charge.
The power saving features won't shut you down for walking away if you are plugged in. If unplugged and you get a phone call you may come back to a hybernating computer. If you're by an outlet there's no reason to deal with it going to sleep on you.
Also depending on the laptop, it may perform up to 50% faster when plugged into the wall because it doesn't have to worry about clocking down to save new sony battery life.

Question:Most of the time i use my laptop on electric power and dont use the battery.However sometimes i switch the laptop off and forget to switch off the charger switch.And as my battery is already charged it dosent need to be left on.So is it okay to keep the charger on when laptop is off and apple A1078 battery is full or does it cause any damage to the charger or the battery?

laptop battery's problem of charger
Okay, well...My previous sony VGP-BPS5 battery charger was giving me trouble, so I got a new one, the same type, mind you. It was working fine for a couple of hours, but now it's doing the same thing as my other one was doing.
If you want to know exactly what was wrong with my charger, just look at my previous question.
I wonder if maybe too much electricity is going through my laptop battery charger into my computer. If it is, does anyone know a way to lessen it?

Is thedell 1691P battery on a laptop annoying
I'm a little upset because i ordered a laptop with a dell 1691P battery , but I found out it sticks out the back. I wanted to cancel my order, but apparently dell already shipped it. I'm paying extra for dell 75UYF battery life that I don't really even need, since I will be using a plug a lot. But the thing is...I bought it on sale, so I'm not paying too much extra for it. So....I'm just concerned about it's usability and durability. Do you have to be all careful about how you set it down while it's in its case? Like, you wouldn't want to put the back (with the dell 8N544 battery) face down in the case because then it'd have the weight of the entire laptop on it. So, do you find the laptop battery to be an annoyance? Do you have to be more careful with it? I guess it isn't a big deal if it is durable and really is connected, but...yeah...I want to know what you guys think.

My laptop isn't warning me when the battery is low
Here's the story. My laptop (apple PowerBook G4 battery ) got a little damaged earlier this year and had to have the motherboard replaced, as it wouldn't respond to AC power. Ever since I've had the motherboard replaced, my apple iBook G3 battery life has gotten worse, and now the "apple iBook G4 battery Percentage Left" and the "apple PowerBook G3 battery Time Left" are unequal, causing my laptop battery to get low without a warning sign popping up. So I'll be working on something and my comp will go into hibernation because the apple A1078 battery is low, with no prior warning! Do I need to buy a newapple A1012 battery , or is there a way to correct the apple M8511 battery life vs. battery time thing? My laptop is only a year and a half old, I thought theapple M6091 battery would last longer before it would start doing this stuff.
