New-laptop-battery - Is it worth to fix old laptop or get a new one
Thursday, August 7, 2008 - Is it worth to fix old laptop or get a new one

Question:I currently own a Apple G4 15" Powerbook that has some things that need fixing (clasp won't stay closed, screen dims on it's own, needs new laptop battery , the cd slot is slightly warped but can still get cd's in/out, & the charger is loose & tends to fall out.). It runs fine other than that. Is it worth fixing all these (I don't know how much it will cost) or should I buy a new one? And if so which brands are better (I've been looking at Hp and Toshiba, they sound good but I don't know much about computers.)

I'm a multi-tasker so I need a fast one. I'll be using it for school and maybe some games. Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Answer:I want you to know, that all laptops are built to be very limited in their expandability.
You also need to know that while Vista is still very uinstable, the machines built for Vista are not being provided any drivers for XP, so, if Vista is so buggy that you cannot use it effevtively, then you cannot go back to XP .
