What is a blog?

A blog is a web page made up of usually short, frequently updated posts that are arranged chronologically — like a what's new page or a journal. The content and purposes of blogs varies greatly — from links and commentary about other web sites, to news about a company/person/idea, to diaries, photos, poetry, mini-essays, project updates, even fiction.

Blog posts are like instant messages to the web.

Many blogs are personal, "what's on my mind" type musings. Others are collaborative efforts based on a specific topic or area of mutual interest. Some blogs are for play. Some are for work. Some are both.

Blogs are also excellent team/department/company/family communication tools. They help small groups communicate in a way that is simpler and easier to follow than email or discussion forums. Use a private blog on an intranet to allow team members to post related links, files, quotes, or commentary. Set up a family blog where relatives can share personal news. A blog can help keep everyone in the loop, promote cohesiveness and group culture, and provide an informal "voice" of a project or department to outsiders.

What is a blog?

According to Wikipedia, “a weblog, Web log or simply a blog, is a web application which contains periodic posts (or entries) on a common webpage”. In simpler words, a blog is a form of an on-line journal where the writer of the blog periodically updates the blog with new content. Blogs often are chronological, with the newest entry being at the top of the page. They also allow comments to each entry, so that others can dialog and interact with the content.

 Is it safe?

Yes. Interacting on blogs is a very safe way to participate in the web community. Just like anything on the web, you need to use caution on where you go, but Bizzy Blogz is and will continue to be very safe.

 How do I comment?

Commenting is easy. Each entry stands along on a blog. At the bottom of each entry there is a link that says “Comments (0)”. The number corresponds to how many comments exist for that entry, so it may change often. All you need to do is click on that link, and you will be taken to the comments page. There is a field for you name, your e-mail if you have one, and your website address if you have one. All of these fields are optional, and you can feel free to comment anonymously. After those fields, there is a larger comment field. You can write whatever comments you have regarding the entry.

After you are finished, you may preview you comments (by clicking on “Preview”) or you may post the comment (by clicking on “Post”). Once you submit your comment, it must be approved by an administrator. Once it has been approved, it will show up on the blog entry under comments.

 Can I post an article?

Not here. You can comment, but posting articles to the blog is limited to authorized contributors.

Can other people comment on my comments?

Yes. One of the great things about blogs is that it allows for dialog. If you comment on an entry another person could come along and comment on the entry in response to your comment. The hope is that this can create dialog leading to a greater understanding of entry.

Will I get spammed if I comment?

Definitely not! Spammers will not have access to your e-mail if you comment. And you also have the freedom to not leave your e-mail if that makes you more comfortable.
